There are three types of DJs;
The Novice This type of DJ usually does not have professional grade equipment. They do not know the different between the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Bryan Setzer Orchestra because they do not have a wide variety of musical selections. This is the cheapest way to "hire" a DJ.
The Average This type of DJ usually has a "loud" banner announcing their company's name. They are typically high pressured in their sales tactics. They usually can not be reached when you try to call them, they usually only "return" your call. If you want to save a few dollars, "hire" this type of DJ.
The Professional If you want a sucessfull event, hire a professional. A professional is willing to meet with you in their office, has a full-time person answering the phone and is always dressed for the occasion. When you are trying to keep your cost low, do not skimp on the entertainment? People will always remember what you looked like in your wedding dress. Do you want them to talk about how bad your entertainment was even longer. Hire a professional and keep them talking about the way you looked and your good judgement of hiring a professional entertainer.
